Safari Experience
Get connected to a true wilderness experience in the real Africa! The animals are free to move throughout the camp and area, there are no fences. Take nothing but photographs and leave nothing but footprints. Appreciate the opportunity to silently glide past a large array of birds and mammals feeding and drinking at the river’s edge, undisturbed by our tranquil passing. This is a very special part of your explorer safari customised by Plains of Africa

Game viewing
Incredible wildlife viewing opportunities that are both intimate, and special. Diverse game in the most natural and unique setting along the Zambezi River. The animals migrate down to the river from the escarpment in the dry months and utilise the savannah flood plain riverine habitats. Animals likely to be seen are; crocodile, hippo, zebra, eland, impala, baboon, leopard, monkey, kudu, waterbuck, buffalo, lion, elephant, jackal, wild dog and an array of birdlife to name but a few.
A Canoe Safari down the Zambezi River is not a race down the river, but at a relaxed pace of Africa, with time to learn and experience a new skill, either paddling your own canoe, or being lead by one of the canoe guides. These trips are normally semi-participatory canoe trails in the Lower Zambezi Valley.
Canoes
Canoes are Canadian style with bucket seats and cushions and life jackets are provided. All food and luggage is carried in the middle of each canoe.
Guides
Guides are all fully licensed and armed and have completed a Mars First Aid course.Canoe guides have at least 1000hrs of canoeing behind them in order to sit their licence and so are very experienced. There are various contact points along the river should any emergencies arise.
